Investors in mid-cap and small-cap mutual fund schemes have doubled their money over the last couple of years, outperforming the large-cap funds over the period. A large part of the flows into equity mutual funds, of Rs 60,000 in 2015, flowed into mid- and small-cap stocks, helping these categories perform better than the bluechips. FIIs turned sellers in largecap stocks with corporate earnings growth failing to revive.
