IRDAI has constituted two groups each from life and general insurance industry to evaluate how insurance industry can leverage e-commerce.
Both the groups are expected to submit their reports on the opportunities of leveraging e-commerce in insurance sector, technological solution and suggest regulatory measures. Also, the groups will evaluate benefits of synergizing with Digital India initiative for insurance industry. The objective of the Digital India campaign is to come out with innovative ideas and practical solutions to expand reach of internet in India.
Experts from regulatory body, insurance sector, distribution industry and insurance repositories are the members of these groups. The groups will submit its report within a month.
