Kisi ki Muskuraahaton pe ho nisaar,
Kisi ka dara mil sake toh le udhaar,
Kisi ke waaste ho tere dil mein pyaar,
Jeena isi ka naam hai.
The excerpts from the famous Hindi song (movie Anaadi staring Raj Kapoor) is the perfect example to describe Munnavar Khan’s work towards humanity.
Bhopal’s Munnavar Khan who works at the distribution firm Vision Advisory Services has been distributing ration packets and meals to underprivileged families and migrant workers.
It all started when Munnavar came across people in his vicinity starving for food due to the nationwide lockdown. He then started distributing ration packets to underprivileged families.
Soon he realized that there were many such families across the city starving for food due to lockdown. Since he did not have funds to cater to such a large number of underprivileged families, he pooled money with other like-minded people.
Khan approached his colleagues, friends, relatives and clients seeking their support for the cause. Soon, many people including his clients not only made contributions but joined him as volunteers.
Over the last two months, Khan and his team have been distributing essential food items to poor families across the city and food packets to migrant workers.
So far, Khan’s team has distributed ration packets to over 3000 families. He has also started offering fruit juice and biscuits to police staff employed in containment zones.
Khan said, “We started with distributing food packets to needy families. However, looking at their suffering during these challenging times, we have been donating money for milk and medicines to families with infants and elders.”
Khan told Cafemutual that he has spent over Rs.7 lakh to serve the needy people so far. He said, “I was overwhelmed when I got calls from clients expressing their interest in donating money to provide for food to the needy people.”
Recently, Khan and his team distributed 400 packets of biryani and fruits to the needy families on the occasion of Eid.
