    If not an advisor…then what?

You have known these men to be successful in the advisory business. But have you ever wondered what they would be doing if the advisory bug had not bitten them?

    Suresh Sadagopan, Ladder7 Financial Advisories

I think I would be doing something closer to the environment. If money were not a constraint, I would probably be an environmentalist. I might be doing something closer to the earth, like farming.

I think I was always interested in this kind of work and I have been reading a lot on the various environmental issues we face. Though I have not been able to do much other than reading, I can see myself in this role.

    Gajendra Kothari, Etica Wealth management

I probably would have been a business journalist. I always like being in the thick of things. Interviewing new people and getting to know their thoughts always seemed enticing. It is not so much the writing and documenting part of journalism, but the digging out the data and meeting new people part I enjoy.

In my college days, I was seriously considering this line of work, but I was already doing my MBA and becoming a journalist required additional degrees in mass communication, so I decided to stick with financial advisory.

    Kartik Jhaveri, Transcend India

I think I would have been either a chef or a business analyst. I enjoy cooking. It was something I picked up when I was younger, out of necessity, but I love trying new dishes, especially Italian and continental food. Though I love managing money, cooking is a passion and close to my heart. On the occasions I cook at home, the entire family is happy. They appreciate my culinary skills.

I enjoy good food. I started by cooking dishes I like; this is how the bug bit me.
