    Emerging social media for advisors

Here are some of the latest social media platforms you can leverage to target millennials.
    Daya Ragunathan Sep 29, 2017

Advisors are constantly on the outlook for new marketing avenues. We at Cafemutual have put together some of the latest social media platforms that advisors must dip into to increase their client base.

    Instagram

Instagram is a visual platform with more users than Twitter. You can share images and videos instantaneously. Advisors who want to market themselves using this medium should create useful content for their target audience and not just concentrate on self-promotion. For instance, advisors can share short video clips with daily financial tips or upload the latest market trends through an infographic to help people get on the path to financial success.

To reach out to a larger audience, advisors must use relevant descriptions and hashtags to help people find their content in their searches. You can also reward followers by holding a contest or partner with other financial planners on Instagram to promote each other.

    Pinterest

Pinterest is another visual platform that has been gaining lot of prominence of late. In Pinterest, advisors can upload photos and posts called pins and share the same with their clients. Ideally, it is better to share visually captivating pins so that more people share them. Another feature that you can look at is the group boards. Through this feature, you and other pinners can share a board where you post your content and share others content as well so that everyone can get visibility and increase their followers.

    Snapchat

Snapchat is ideal for advisors who want to onboard young professionals. Snapchat is perfect for real-time social media marketing because it can give the audience direct access to live events. You can also use Snapchat to give exclusive content to your target audience that they might not receive on other digital platforms. For example, if you are in the process of launching your own app or opening a new office, you can share these images through snapchat.

Just like with Instagram and other social channels, identify a few influencers. By partnering with influencers, you can spread awareness to a demographic that’s hard to reach through traditional media. For example, if you want to reach out to doctors, connect with the head of a medical association and share your snapchat posts with him.
