SBI Mutual Fund has appointed Vinay M Tonse as the new managing director and chief executive officer of the fund house.
Vinay M Tonse took over the responsibility on August 24, 2020. He succeeds Ashwani Bhatia who has returned to parent SBI as its managing director.
Tonse joined SBI as a probationary officer in 1988 and has worked across different locations in India and abroad. Over his tenure of 32 years with the SBI, Tonse has rich experience in several facets of commercial banking such as corporate credit, treasury, retail and international banking.
Before joining SBI Mutual Fund, he was serving as the chief general manager of the Chennai circle at the bank and was heading SBI’s business & operations in the Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. He has also headed the operations at SBI Osaka branch - Japan as CEO for 4 years.
