In a major development, NISM has launched remote proctored examination that will enable candidates to appear for NISM examination like NISM Series VA: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Examination from the comfort of your home or office.
However, this initiative has been launched on temporary basis due to covid-19 pandemic.
Enrolling for online examination:
- Visit NISM certification portal by clicking here and click on ‘Enrollment’ followed by ‘Enroll for examination’
- Select your examination from the drop down menu. Currently, NISM offers six courses through remote proctored
- Check seat availability and select city as ‘Online’ and examination center as ‘Exam from anywhere’
- Finalize the time slot and make payment
- The system will generate an admit card having exam related details which you can download. You will receive the examination link and instructions 24 hours prior to the selected date and time through email.
Test
- You will be monitored online by an invigilator. The invigilator may ask you move your laptop or desktop if he senses any suspicious activity. Remember that the invigilator can terminate your examination without any warning.
- Ensure that your webcam and microphone work seamlessly. You will receive a link that will direct you to start exam and check system compatibly.

Checklist:
- Internet speed of 512 kbps for both download and upload
- Compatible with Microsoft windows operating system version 7 and above
- Not compatible with iOS or Apple Macbooks
- Download secure exam browser on your pc or laptop
- Free space of 65 MB on the default hard drive (typically C drive)
Keep in mind:
- Test your gadgets and network connection before the exam starts. Ensure that your laptop is charged
- Run the compatibility check before taking the test
- Ensure that you sit in a well-lit room with a plain background and proper lighting on your face
- Keep your government IDs handy
- Don’t copy paste
- Keep the chat box open
- Ensure that you sit in a room where there is no disturbance
- Don’t try to google or browse as your screen details will be monitored
- Don’t access your mobile phones, earphone, calculator and so on during the exam as the system can detect suspicious activities
- No breaks are allowed during exam
