Navneet Munot will join HDFC AMC as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
In a company disclosure to BSE India, the AMC said that the board of directors has approved the appointment of Navneet Munot as MD and CEO of the company. He will succeed the present Managing Director and CEO Milind Barve, the AMC said.
Barve’s tenure will come to end on January 31, 2021. Munot is expected to the join the company before January 31, 2021, said sources.
Barve is the longest lasting CEO in the Indian mutual fund industry. He is the founding CEO of the AMC. Inspite of HDFC AMC being a late entrant in the MF industry, he has made his fund house the most valuable and most profitable AMC in the industry. Currently his fund house is among top two fund houses in terms of assets.
During his tenure as AMFI Chairman, he steered the MF industry through some of its most critical times.
The upcoming MD and CEO of HDFC AMC has a rich experience of over 25 years in the fund management industry. He is considered as one of the most brilliant fund managers in the country and is credited by many experts for making an important contribution to the success of SBI Mutual Fund house.
Currently, Munot is the Chairman of Indian Association of Investment Professional. Munot is a postgraduate in Accountancy and Business Statistics and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is also a Charter Holder of the CFA Institute and CAIA Institute. He has also done FRM.
