    Which fund houses are doing good in B30 cities?

    Our analysis shows that SBI MF, HDFC MF and ICICI Prudential MF are the top three fund houses in terms of B30 AUM.

    An analysis of AUM data done by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, HDFC MF and ICICI Prudential MF are the top three fund houses in terms of B30 AUM in December 2024.

    SBI MF is the leader in this segment with the highest B30 AUM of Rs. 2.55 lakh crore. The fund house derives 23% of its total assets from B30 cities.

    HDFC MF and ICICI Prudential MF occupy the next two spots with B30 assets of Rs. 1.54 lakh crore and Rs.1.43 lakh crore, respectively. While B30 assets account for 19% of the total assets for HDFC MF, ICICI Prudential MF sees 16% of its total assets coming from beyond the top 30 cities.

    Following the top three are Nippon India MF and UTI MF with B30 AUM of Rs.1.18 lakh crore  and Rs.70,700 crore respectively. Both the fund houses derive 20% of the total assets from B30 cities.

    Other fund houses among top 10 fund houses with the highest B30 AUM are Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, Kotak MF, Tata MF and Mirae Asset MF.

    If we look at the proportion of B30 AUM to the total assets, Groww MF has the highest share of B30 assets at 33% in December 2024.

    Quant MF is at the second position with 30% of its total AUM coming from B30 cities. Union MF occupies the third position with 29% of its total AUM coming from B30 cities.

    Samco MF and NJ MF are the next two in the ranking with a B30 contribution of 26% and 25% of their total  AUM, respectively.

    Overall, the overall B30 AUM of the industry is at Rs. 12.80 lakh crore in December 2024, indicating that the B30 cities account for 19% of the total MF AUM.

    Of the 43 fund houses, 22 companies have done better than the industry average.
