    Which fund houses derive the highest AUM from direct plans?

    The MF industry derives 46% of its total assets from direct plans in December 2024.

    An analysis of the MF industry data by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the top three companies in terms of direct plan assets in absolute terms in December 2024.

    SBI MF is the leader in the segment with direct plan assets of Rs. 6.31 lakh crore, forming 57% of the overall assets of the fund house. 

    ICICI Prudential MF has recorded the second highest AUM through direct mode of Rs. 4.18 lakh crore, which is 47% of its total AUM. 

    HDFC MF occupies the third spot with direct assets of Rs. 3.33 lakh crore. The fund house derives 42% of its total assets from direct plans.  

    Nippon India MF and Kotak MF are the next two fund houses with direct AUM of Rs. 3.15 lakh crore and Rs. 2.39 lakh crore, respectively. Direct plans constitute 54% and 48% of their total AUM, respectively. 

    Other fund houses who get substantial assets from direct plans are Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, UTI MF, Tata MF and Bandhan MF. 

    In terms of proportion of direct plans to the total assets, Zerodha MF has the highest share of direct mode in its total assets at 100%. Quantum MF is second with a 93% share of direct mode in its total AUM. Navi MF is next with 87% of its assets coming from direct plans.

    PPFAS MF and Old Bridge MF have also recorded 65% and 63% of their total assets coming from direct plans, respectively. 

    Other fund houses with a healthy proportion of direct plan in their total AUM include Trust MF, SBI MF, Quant MF, Groww MF and 360 One Asset MF.

    Overall, the direct plan AUM of the industry stands at Rs. 31.86 lakh crore, constituting 46% of total MF assets.
