    Report card: ICICI Pru MF, HDFC MF and SBI MF have seen the highest AUM growth in FY25

    The top three fund houses account for over one-third of the growth of the MF industry during this period.

    An analysis of AUM done by Cafemutual shows that ICICI Prudential MF, HDFC MF and SBI MF have seen the highest AUM growth in FY25.

    Among all fund houses, ICICI Prudential MF has recorded the highest AUM growth in FY 2025 by adding almost Rs.2 lakh crore to its AUM kitty. Its AUM grew from Rs. 6.83 lakh crore in FY 2024 to Rs. 8.80 lakh crore in FY 2025.

    HDFC MF is second on the list with a growth of Rs. 1.61 lakh crore in its assets. The average AUM of the fund house has increased from Rs. 6.13 lakh crore in March 2024 to Rs. 7.74 lakh crore in March 2025.

    The largest fund houses in terms of AUM, SBI MF occupies the third spot with an increase of Rs. 1.59 lakh crore in its MF assets. Its AUM went up from Rs. 9.14 lakh crore in FY 2024 to Rs. 10.73 lakh crore in FY25.

    Nippon India MF and Kotak MF are the next two fund houses with AUM growth of Rs. 1.26 lakh crore and Rs. 1.01 lakh crore, respectively. Both the fund houses finished the financial year with AUM of Rs. 5.57 lakh crore and Rs. 4.83 lakh crore, respectively.  

    Other fund houses with healthy AUM growth in FY 2025 are Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, UTI MF, Axis MF, Motilal Oswal MF and Tata MF.

    In percentage terms, Old Bridge MF has seen the highest growth in its assets at 820%. The fund house’s MF assets have grown from Rs. 128 crore to about Rs. 1,180 crore in FY25. Zerodha MF is next with an almost 800% rise in its MF assets from Rs. 540 crore to Rs. 4,850 crore. Helios MF is on the third spot with a 228% rise in its assets from about Rs. 1040 crore to Rs. 3,400 crore.

    Other fund houses with over 100% growth of their MF assets in FY25 include JM Financial MF, Groww MF, Bajaj Finserv MF, Trust MF, Shriram MF and Motilal Oswal MF.

    Overall, the MF industry AUM has grown by Rs. 13.3 lakh crore in the last financial year to increase from Rs. 54.13 lakh crore to Rs. 67.43 lakh crore, recording a growth of 25%.
