    Fun and frolic at the first ever inter AMC T20 tournament in Mumbai

    Stage is set for SBI MF to take on Motilal Oswal MFand DSP BlackRock to faceoff ICICI Prudential on October 31 in the semi-finals.

    DSP BlackRock, ICICI Prudential, Motilal Oswal and SBI won their respective matches in this knockout tournament and reached semifinals of the first T20 cricket tournament of the mutual fund industry called ‘T-20 Corporate Challenge Cricket Cup -2015’.

    In the semi-finals, SBI MF will take on Motilal Oswal MF and DSP BlackRock will faceoff ICICI Prudential on October 31.

    Nagesh Thakur, former Mumbai cricketer and coach, Jayesh Dadarkar, Selector, Ladies Mumbai Cricket Association and Sharad Sarang, former-A Division Cricketer jointly inaugurated this tournament by distributing uniforms to fund officials.

    In the first match of this T20 tournament played on October 24, SBI MF won the match against HSBC MF. HSBC MF won the toss and elected to field in anticipation of restricting SBI MF’s batsmen. However, things worked in favor of SBI MF as their batsmen gave a good start by scoring 179 runs in 19 overs. Nilkant Bhat scored 67 runs out of 46 balls. HSBC MF’s batting line up crumbled quickly and they were bowled out in the 11th for a score of just 120 runs. Amit Patil of SBI MF who took 4 crucial wickets for just 17 runs was declared the Man of the Match.

    In the second match of the first day, Motilal Oswal defeated Religare Invesco by 8 wickets. Religare Invesco batted first and piled up 125 runs. Only Anish Surve and Nitin Gosair of Religare Invesco MF managed to score over 25 runs. Later, the spectacular inning of Motilal Oswal MF’s star batsman Amit Dasani added to team Religare Invesco’s woes. Dasani scored a whopping 63 runs in just 19 balls and became Man of the Match.

    On the second day i.e. October 25, DSP BlackRock MF played against Kotak MF. After winning the toss, DSP BlackRock opted to field first and managed to restrict Kotak MF’s batsmen in the initial overs. However, Kotak MF managed to finally set a decent target of 147 runs. Parthipan Nadar of DSP BlackRock MF took 3 wickets. While chasing, DSP BlackRock scored 150 runs in the 18th over to win the match. Bhavesh Lakhani of DSP BlackRock became the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

    In the last knockout match of this tournament, ICICI Prudential MF defeated Axis MF by 7 wickets. ICICI Prudential MF won the toss and elected to field. Axis MF was bowled out in 90 runs. ICICI Prudential MF required just 7.4 overs to reach their target. Darshit Jhaveri of ICICI Prudential MF scored 39 runs in 13 balls and became the Man of the Match.

    This four-day-long tournament (spread over two weekends) started on October 24. The final match is scheduled to be held on November 01 from 1.30 pm at Naman Payyade Cricket Ground, Borivali, Mumbai. Sarang Sports is organizing this event
